    yes the connect is Bobby Fischer, and he invented chess960, a variation of classical chess wherein the initial board position can be any of the possible 960 jumbled up back row pieces arrangement.
    I think it turned up quite a cakewalk for achal & karan; map of Reykjavik instead of that letter might have been a bit more puzzling!
