Q16.
connect the two pics and this cosine rule; formula is a hint!
that's Bhaskara-1, the satellite. Trigonometry is a very far fetched answer; although it can't be completely denied either. Okay making it simpler; this guy is an ex US president(whose name I'm sure you know); and the name of satellite i have already told! If you ponder over the cosine rule for a while you might get the answer; although we were never told that cosine rule can ever be related to 'that'. Now i think it is crackable.
That's the Aryabhata satellite.
ReplyDeleteWild guess for the connect - Trigonometry?

the connect is the pythagoras theorem.
ReplyDeletebhaskara was one of the guys who gave his proof of the theorem.
the american president shown above is james garfield. he also gave a different proof of the theorem.
i'm guessing that the cosine rule can be used to derive the theorem by assuming theta=90...which gives us our theorem....
Pythagoras theorem was my second best guess!
ReplyDeleteThe cosine rule is actually the general form of the Pythagoras theorem.
